Yvonne Kane, Assistant Professor of English, has been an educator for over 20 years. She earned her Master's Degree in Education, Reading Specialty, from Goucher College. Her experience in all areas and levels of education, make her a great asset to Howard Community College. Yvonne has served at HCC for 5 years and contributed her leadership skills as a course coordinator of Developmental Reading and Writing and facilitator of the English Placement Team. She also serves on the Developmental Education Committee. In addition, Yvonne has had the opportunity to share her knowledge with other instructors and professors as a presenter and workshop facilitator. She is currently working on her promotion project which examines the developmental reading and writing programs and interventions offered at Howard Community College as well as other institutions. The goal of this project is to determine how HCC faculty might better serve students in developmental courses and streamline the developmental course sequence. Yvonne is looking forward to bringing educators together as the Conference Coordinator of DEAM. In her free time, Yvonne enjoys drawing, painting and dancing.
