NOSSMD Fall Conference Sponsored by Hawkes Learning

Hawkes Learning’s affordable mastery-based materials develop college-ready students who become career-ready graduates. The student software’s guided learning path breaks down lesson content into three simple steps designed to foster lasting knowledge:

  • Learn: A multimedia-rich presentation of lesson content that includes concept builders, animations, videos, and interactive skill checks
  • Practice: An ungraded, penalty-free environment containing algorithmically-generated questions with intelligent tutoring & error-specific feedback
  • Certify: An assessment that requires students to demonstrate concept mastery at a defined proficiency level without tutoring aids

Students also have access to practice & assigned online tests to further assess progress. Additional course activities including application projects, writing prompts, and critical thinking exercises supplement lessons to contextualize key concepts, helping students understand how abstract concepts can be applied to real-world scenarios.  Instructors can access their own online Grade Book to customize lessons, track student progress in real time, and gain insight into student- and class-level performance via reporting & analytics. Use these features to create targeted outreach campaigns to support students who need additional help and keep classes on-track.
